Pemerintah Thailand Mengakui Keberadaan Negara Palestina

Pemerintah Thailand mengakui keberadaan negara Palestina. Pengakuan Thailand ini disambut gembira para pemimpin Palestina, ditengah kebuntuan perundingan antara Palestina dengan Israel. Pengakuan resmi pemerintah Thailand tersebut telah resmi diinformasikan ke Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa di New York.
Dengan pengakuan Thailand itu, maka kini sudah 131 negara yang mengakui negara Palestina sesuai dengan perbatasan yang ada sebelum Perang Enam Hari 1967.
"Pengakuan Thailand kepada sebuah negara Palestina merupakan yang pertama kali di Tahun Baru 2012 ini, serta merupakan prestasi baru bagi diplomasi Palestina," papar menteri Palestina Riyad al-Maliki.

Pekan lalu, satu individu induk orangutan dan satu individu bayi orangutan diselamatkan dari pohon di Ketapang, Kalimantan Barat. Mereka bertahan karena pohon-pohon di sekitar mereka sudah dibersihkan oleh buldoser untuk perkebunan kelapa sawit. Kini mereka dirawat di pusat rehabilitasi International Animal Rescue (IAR) sebelum dilepas.
